1946 格灵达(Gretag)公司在瑞士成立。
1958 爱色丽(X-Rite)公司在美国密歇根州格兰维尔市成立。
1965 Kollmorgen Instruments Corporation与 Macbeth 合并.
1970 Kollmorgen 收购 the Munsell Color Company.
1984 格灵达(Gretag)颜色控制系统研发出便携式分光光度仪。
1986 爱色丽在美国纳斯达克上市。
1993 爱色丽香港公司成立，开拓中国及亚洲业务。
2001 格灵达 麦克贝斯（GretagMacbeth）成为Amazys控股公司的子公司。爱色丽上海公司成立。
2006 爱色丽收购Amazys (GretagMacbeth的母公司)
目前GretagMacbeth标志已经不再使用，而Macbeth标志在Xrite光源系统中依然采用，名为Macbeth Light.

以上是官方说法，下面是某些宣传时候的说法
GretagMacbeth 的总部位于 Regensdorf, Switzerland（瑞士），专业制造 CA 彩色辅助工具为主。（注：1997年这应该是合并后）
这间公司（注：应该指的Macbeth）创立于 1915年，创始人为 Norman Macbeth，初期开发日光照明系统，到了1943成立美国纽约分公司，延聘当时知名的 Dr. Edgar Gretener 研究更深入的色彩学，后（注：应该是1946年）更名为 Gretag AG 分公司。
1965年该公司设计出了第一部可以携带的色彩浓度计（应该是密度计吧），震撼出版业界。
1997年两家公司正式合併为 GretagMacbeth Holding AG，而在2002年又更名为 Amazys Holding AG。
另外还有一家公司：Kollmorgen，目前这家公司还存在，曾经收购了the Comic II，最早的电脑配色系统，与Macbeth合并后，Macbeth ,Division of Kollmorgen (UK) Ltd生产了 MS 2020，MS3000，

1970 Kollmorgen acquired the Munsell Color Company, the internationally recognized manufacturer of precise color standards.
1979 Gretag Color Control Systems became an independent profit center within Gretag AG, focused on color measurement and color quality control products.
1984 Gretag Color Control Systems produced the first portable spectrophotometer.
1997 The Gretag Color Control System Division of Gretag AG merges with the Macbeth division of Kollmorgen Instruments Corporation.
1998 Gretag Macbeth GmbH acquired LOGO Kommunikations, a developer of color management software.
1999 GretagMacbeth acquired Talia Tecnoequipe, a software company focused on the textile industry. Viptronic, a manufacturer of hand-held instrumentation was acquired by GretagMacbeth.
2001 Gretag-Macbeth Holding AG becomes Amazys Holding AG.
2003 GretagMacbeth announces acquisitions of SheLyn Inc., a textile software and applications provider and Sequel Imaging a graphic arts solutions provider.
2006 X-Rite acquires and merges with Amazys Holding AG and all its holdings.
